This notice covers only the demonstration version of the JewelLink EDU app, distributed to invited testers through Apple TestFlight and Google Play internal testing. The demonstration app uses simulated information only. A full privacy policy will be published before any version of the app handles real school or family information.
What the demonstration app is
The demonstration app shows how JewelLink EDU is intended to work: pickup plans, curbside check-in, messages between families and school staff, and emergency alerts. Every school, student, staff member, message, and alert in it is fictional. The app is not connected to any school or school system.
Information the demonstration app collects
None is collected by us. The demonstration app runs entirely on your device. It does not send information to Red Laser Technology, to a school, or to any other party, and it does not contain advertising, analytics, or tracking tools.
Anything you type — such as an email address at sign-in, a name added as an authorized pickup person, or a message — stays on your device inside the app, is used only to show the demonstration, and is erased when the app restarts. The only setting the app remembers between uses is your language choice (English or Spanish), stored on your device.
Location
If you tap “Check in with my location instead” on the Pickup screen, the app asks your permission to read your device's location. In the demonstration app, that single reading is used on your device to show how arrival check-in works. It is not sent anywhere, not stored, and not used to track you. You can decline, and you can change the permission at any time in your device settings. The app never uses location in the background.
Children
The demonstration app is intended for adults — school staff, district staff, and invited parents or guardians evaluating the product. It is not directed to children, and it does not collect information from anyone.
Feedback you send
If you send feedback or screenshots through TestFlight or Google Play, that information is delivered to us by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies, and we use it only to improve the app.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page before releasing any version of the app that handles real information. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
